Not Seen / Seen
Not Seen / Seen is a collaborative performance consisting of sound by Annie Danis, movement by Annie Malcolm and production by Zach Kelly. It is an exploration of memory, experience, and expertise in archaeological knowledge production through its sonic and sensorial dimensions. The sound portion is constructed out of clips from field-recordings archived by Danis from 2008 to the present, and spanning archaeological work from New Mexico, Colorado, Georgia, and California. Malcolm’s movement indexes our collective analysis of the experience represented by the clips and the contingency of their relationship to archaeological data.
